Full contemporary gilt panelled calf, raised bands, gilt compartments, later red morocco label; joints cracked but firm, spine rubbed & chipped at head & tail. Faint evidence of early bookplate removal, modern bookplate of Robert J. Hayhurst. ESTC T147727. The first collected edition, published the same year as the quarto edition issued in parts. It includes a piece on Alexander Selkirk (Robinson Crusoe), 'whose name is familiar to men of curiosity, from the fame of his having lived four years and four months alone in the Island of Juan Fernandez'.
