Binding firm with occasional marks and slight spotting internally. Illustrated with engraved frontispiece and 5 fold out plates. Owner's name in ink to the front end papers. George Adams (1750â "1795) was a mathematical instrument maker to King George III of Great Britain, succeeding his father to the post. An inventor of optical devices and microscopes, he wrote a variety of early texts on subjects such as electricity, astronomy, microscopes and vision.
