8vo, pp. [ii], [vii]-xiv, [ii], 157, [1]; contemporary mottled calf, spine and covers gilt (spine chipped at head and tail). First edition of this collection, a particularly interesting work by Hunt. The title poem concerns many of his contemporary poets - Wordsworth, Scott, Coleridge, Southey - and the prose notes at the end are in effect an essay on romantic poetry. This is the true first edition: a supposed New York edition of 1813 appears to be a ghost. Some copies have one word corrected in Hunt's hand on the last page, but this one is uncorrected.
