8 pages, in very good condition. NOTE: Some years ago a copy of a "SOUVENIR OF THE TASTING held by J.L.P.Lebègue & Co. Ltd." passed through my hands. Held in 1949, no women were allowed to attend the tasting except for a reporter. The managing director explained to her that "It is impossible to cater for women at these wine-tasting do's. If they come, it is immediately turned into a social occasion, and instead of tasting the wines with a view to buying, our buyers are inclined to drink them for pleasure". In the ensuing 9 years there was obviously a change of heart. Not only were women allowed to attend, but "The Future of Expectoration" is "A Treatise for the use of Ladies of Elegance and Quality, especially devised upon the occasion of the tenth Lebègue Tasting" in which ladies are offered "Learned Advice from the pens of several Noted Experts upon the importance of this social grace", namely, how to spit. The Noted Experts are H.W.Yoxall ("Haute Couture in Spitwear"), H. Warner Allen ("Expectorant Deportment") and André L. Simon ("A Catechism for Amateurs of Wine"). Size: 21.5 x 13.5 cm.…
