Bound in the publisher's original black and white patterned cloth, lettered in black on the front board and spine, the rear board with a blind stamp, black and white op-art patterned endleaves, lacks dust jacket. (Slightly tanned and marked, head of the spine a little frayed).
Text block clean, overall a very good copy. With the bookplate of 'F. Stuart Legg' located on the front flyleaf.
Stuart Legg (1910-1988) was a pioneering English documentary filmmaker, famous for writing and directing the 1941 documentary 'Churchill's Island' which went on to become the first-ever documentary to win an Oscar. Also in contention for 'Best Documentary' that year was Legg's film 'Warclouds in the Pacific'. Legg eventually went on to replace Paul Rotha as the head of Strand Films in 1937.
