True first appearance in Russian of the first photographs from the lunar far side, limited edition of 5000 copies which were not available to the public. This pre-dates a more comprehensive work "Atlas of the Far Side of the Moon", and shows the images in their unprocessed form. This was rushed out by the Moscow Academy of Sciences as a propaganda coup in the space race. It is the earliest example of scientific discovery from space.
