The contents, with the bookplate of the writer of mystery and supernatural fiction, Sherlock Holmes expert and bibliophile Vincent Starrett to the front pastedown, his ownership signature at the top of the half title, and his presentation inscription to the front endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. Inscribed by Starrett in blue ink on the front endpaper "For Dave / In the fellowship / of ghosts - / Vincent". A posthumous collection of fantasy and horror short stories with an eight page introduction by Arthur Machen. (Bleiler).
