An excellent copy of this important work dealing with the philosophical mind/body question and offering his ideas on the development of the human brain. Koestler [1905-1983] Hungarian novelist, polymath and journalist. In much of his work Koestler, one of the great European intellectuals of the mid twentieth century. He was often prepared to run counter to the scientific establishment, for example taking on Darwinism in The Case of the Midwife Toad and in his acceptance of the paranormal.
