Add to basketTITLE: THE HISTORY OF THE POST OFFICE From Its Establishment Down To 1836 plus U.S. MAIL AIRPLANE (circa 1950) AUTHOR: HERBERT JOYCE, C. B. OF THE POST OFFICE PUBLISHER - (LOCATION) / COPYRIGHT: RICHARD BENTLEY & SON, NEW BURLINGTON STREET, LONDON 1893 (Publishers in Ordinary to her Majesty the Queen) EDITION: First Edition assumed with only the 1893 date found on title with verso/copyright being blank ISBN: None CATEGORY: Government, Planes, History, Rare, First Edition BINDING/COVER: Hardback without dust jacket COLOR: Reddish SIZE: 5 ½ x 8 ½ (approximately) PAGES: 460 pages. CONDITION: Book is an ex-library copy from 'Griswold Memorial Library' with two raised seals bearing the name. There are no other indications or codes found from the library. The outside of the book is in good condition for its age; the front and back boards have puffy like spots to cloth which may indicate the book was stored in high humidity (guess) or it could be from the glue or something used by the publisher; the front board has a small size snag near the left edge; there may have been a library tag removal at the bottom edge of the spine. Book is without marks or writings (other than library raised seals), pages are clean and book is tight and sturdy. All the pages are present in book. Good copy. Condition of Plane: The plane appears to be aged with a possible rust patina present all over. Three of the four propellers are partially broken away. U.S.MAIL is stamped on the right side past the door. The bottom mechanism underneath the plane will spine the tires when turned. Overall the plane has a rusty old look about it. Not sure able type or model of plane. Not sure about the year or era for the plane. There is a 'BALLOON 15 X 900' written on both tires. The plane is about 13 inches long and from wing to wing is about 18 inches. BACKGROUND/DESCRIPTION: The book is printed in London and appears to be the history of England's post office. No known information is known about the plane at the time of this research. There is a 'U.S. MAIL' stamped to the right of the exit door. COMPETITIVE PRICING!
