First edition. 4to. Original grey-green cloth, rebacked with original cloth spine laid down, gilt titles to spine, titles and decoration to the upper cover in black. Top edge gilt. A good only copy, boards worn and marked, rebacked with original spine lead down, though lettering not legible, new endpapers. Some light tears to edges of plate at 207. Nine colour illustrations, and many black and white illustrations, some from photographs. One of the earliest uses of colour illustrations in a golf book. This is Everard's best known work, a history of one of the oldest and most famous golf clubs in the world, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. Seller Inventory # 45932
