FIRST EDITION. TWO VOLUMES, the first volume published and quickly reprinted in 1928 and the second in 1930, in total there are 27 colour plates mounted on card, some foxing of prelims, each plate accompanied by a short explanation of the setting and occasion by Edwards, end papers of volume II sun stained, original heavy cloth binding with title label mounted on front cover, spines a little tanned, occasional light spotting within, pages overall clean, binding sound. Lionel Edwards (1878-1966) was the most successful sporting artist of the 20th century. No one captured better the winter landscape of hunting England. The illustrations in my Hunting Sketch Book perfectly demonstrate the artists skills and it is not surprising that he published a sequel in 1930. The Old Hall Bookshop was established in 1977 by John and Lady Juliet Townsend. The Old Hall is a very fine 18th century house in the centre of Brackley, a pleasant market town about 18 miles north of Oxford. The shop has a large stock of antiquarian, secondhand, new books and maps covering a wide range of interests and prices. We welcome visitors and trade customers. Parking is easy in the Market Square. Disabled access available. Opening hours: We are open every day except Sunday and Bank holidays, from 10am to 5:30pm. We attend a number of Book Fairs each year.
