This volume includes articles on : Belcher made Governor of New England, affairs in Barbados,account of the Cherokee Indians and Sir Alexander Cumong's adventures among them, also the treaty with them, ceremonies of the Chinese ambassador at Moscow, a long 71 page account of the Jesuit Rector at Toulon, who engaged several women under his care in "abominable lewdness", especially one Mary Cadiere, earthquake at Naples , naval list, miracles at the grave of Abbot Paris, an account of the benefits of hemp flax and silk cultivation in the American plantations, affairs in new england, the Pension Bill, state of the national debt, account of the sugar trade, affairs in south carolina, etc etc. Oneof the most interesting volumes in this journal's run. ***** The Historical Register was a forerunner of the Annual Register (1758 onwards) and provided a valuable contemporary account of history both British and Foreign, and was published annually from 1716-1738. From 1718, a Chronological Diary was issues, with a separate title page and pagination. Individual volumes are quite uncommon and can vary significantly in value, dependent on their contents.
