First edition, in an attractive binding. Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932) was a British horticulturist, garden designer, and craftswoman. She created over 400 gardens in Britain, Europe, and the United States, and her prolific and enduring advice on gardening, published across magazines, books, and journals, remains an influential reference for gardeners. Octavo (221 x 142 mm). With 53 illustrations from photographs by the author. Attractively bound by Bickers and Son in near-contemporary green half morocco, spine lettered and decorated with floral design gilt, marbled boards and endpapers, top edge gilt. Some occasional mild foxing, spine a little faded, an excellent copy.
