The sole edition of the proceedings and exhibits of the 1878 International Monetary Conference, convened at the insistence of the United States to consider the adoption of a common ratio between gold and silver. From the library of Exbury House, Hampshire, recently dispersed (without any indication of such). Exbury House was acquired by Banker and politician Lionel Nathan de Rothschild (1882-1942) in 1919 and remains in the family to this day. Many of the books in the library were inherited from Alfred de Rothschild (1842-1918) of Halton Estate, notably considered one of greatest art collectors of his day. Size: 8vo.
