First edition of the first novel in The Vampire Chronicles. It was adapted into the 1994 film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Octavo. Original black quarter cloth, spine lettered in gilt, dark grey sides, front cover with author's initials in blind, rear cover with publisher's imprint in blind, top edge red, the rest uncut. With dust jacket. Spine creased, ends bumped; jacket unclipped, creasing to extremities, small damp stain on verso: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
