A first edition,first printing published by Edmund Ward in 1948. A near fine book without inscriptions - a little spotting to the prelims. In the scarce wrapper priced at 4/- as called for. A little wear to the spine tips and to the corners - a superb copy. Illustrated by Reginald Dalby, his first book in the series, who became the established illustrator of the series.
