London, C.W. Daniel, 1933. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. This copy with a gift inscription from Hugh Walpole. A utopia of sorts, with some disaster tropes blended in. "A curious science fantasy novel in which events such as catastrophic earthquakes in England tend to be submerged by strong doses of philosophy; the last section of the book described a kind of Utopian state that has emerged in 1953 [Locke, Spectrum I:130] Fairly uncommon in the dust jacket. Chipping and edge wear to the jacket, some creasing and a little discolouration here and there, 30mm tear to the front hinge.
