First edition. An amusing guide to self-care with instructional diagrams for facial exercises, manicures, and the application of cosmetics. There are also some recipes for home-made treatments and "rejuvenating baths". In her introduction, Verni writes, "not every aspirant to beauty is able to visit a highly specialized consultant whose experience tells her what to prescribe in each case, but any woman can arrange a brief interview with herself and her mirror". Verni was also the author of Modern Beauty Culture (1933). Octavo. Half-tone frontispiece after a photograph of the author, illustrations throughout. Original blue cloth, spine and front cover lettered in yellow, publishers stamp in blind on rear cover, top edge blue. With dust jacket. Lettering slightly rubbed, top edge faded; jacket toned, especially on spine, trace of sticker removal to foot, a couple of chips and short closed tears to extremities with a little loss to foot of rear flap fold, flaps unpriced as issued: a near fine copy in a very good jacket.
