FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. Octavo, pp. [8], 463, [1]. Publishers' black cloth with gilt titles to spine and Tolkien monogram to upper board in printed cream dust-jacket. Contents clean and bright, a very good book in like dust-jacket. Cover cloth a touch scuffed with upper corner of upper board bumped. Dust-jacket nicked & creased to edge. Selected letters edited by Carpenter with the assistance of Christopher Tolkien, a rich collection revealing the many complexities and interests of the great author. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
