Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a series of thought-provoking essays from the celebrated writer Maurice Samuel. Each essay in this book explores the depths of human emotion, family history, and cultural legacies from a unique perspective. Deeply personal and profoundly philosophical, the author shares his introspections on key human concerns and ideas such as inheritance, Zionism, identity, Jewishness, and spiritual reflection. The writer's Jewish upbringing and early childhood in Romania form the backdrop of several of the essays that serve to explore aspects of Jewish culture and traditions. Others are based on his experiences during the time he spent in America and Europe. Written with searing honesty and elegance, this book is an exploration of one man's attempt at reconciling his ties to the past, his understanding of the present and his hope for the future in a world in flux. At once personal and universal, this book offers a penetrating investigation into the complexities of individual and collective life and is bound to resonate with readers of diverse backgrounds. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781334919442_0
