First edition. pp. xxiv, 661, [7 publisher's list]. Publisher's original decorated cloth with gilt lettering to front board & spine, a little dulled at the latter with a short tear at its head. Fraying and bumping to other extremities. Black and white photographs and illustrations. Clean internally, without ownership names. Chapters on 'Home Furnishings,' 'The Making of Clothing,' 'Planning the Home Kitchen,' 'Kitchen Utensils,' 'Planning the Daily Meals,'etc. Written by the first women to attain full professorship at Cornell University and co-founders of the Cornell School of Home Economics. A volume in Macmillan's The Rural Manuals. Scarce. 8vo.

Store description

We have been trading in Chiswick for 55 years - come and visit us in our bow-windowed c18th shop. All of our shipments are now tracked. Our Standard service is currently Royal Mail Tracked with FedEx, UPS and Parcelforce for larger parcels; local conditions vary so please be patient with us. Stephen Foster ; Foster Books, 183 Chiswick High Road, London W4 2DR. Old and rare books, a good turnover of stock leaning towards Arts subjects. Fine bindings, illustrated, literature. Only 5 minutes walk from Turnham Green tube station on the District Line in West London. The Chiswick shop is open Monday to Saturday 10-30 to 17-30 GMT and most Sundays 11 to 5 and earlier at the beginning of the month when the Flower and Antiques Markets are on in front of the shop (by all means call in advance to be sure). We only list a small proportion of the ever changing stock.
