[Children's Illustrated] FIRST EDITION, first impression. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.170. Publisher's green cloth lettered in gilt to to upper and spine, gilt illustration to upper. With the illustrated dust-jacket designed by J. Abbey priced at 5s. to front flap. Illustrated frontispiece, full page black and white illustrations throughout. Previous owner's gift note to flyleaf, toning and spotting to edges of textblock, expected toning throughout with spotting to preliminaries and endpapers, rubbing to gilt at spine, heavy sunning to cloth, chipping to crown (1.5 x 1cm) and base (1.5 x 1.5cm) of jacket spine, with milder chipping and tearing to other jacket extremities. Good. When a valuable cat is stolen, all clues seem to point to Luke as the thief. However, the Find-Outers know that their friend Luke didn't commit the crime, and they must piece together the clues in order to clear his name.
