The Proceedings of the Royal Society abstracted larger articles from the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society. This issue also contains abstracts of William Thomson's 'On the Thermal Effects of Fluids in Motion' and his Bakerian Lecture 'On the Electro-Dynamic Properties of Metals'.
