Item description from seller

First edition of this pictorial account of Oflag II D - a camp in the early stages of the second world war in Gross-Born (now Borne Sulinowo, Poland). Its inmates included French officers. phototypes by Georges Duval, Lithography by Mourlot Freres and colouring by Beaufumé. Inside, the pages are in good condition. Many pages uncut. Beautiful colour and single colour illustrations throughout. Text by Commander Mabileau, Lieutenant Dubout, Adrien Sadoul, Private Brunet, Lieutenant Canat de Chizy, Lieutenant Vidal, Charles Caussade, Lieutenant JL Aussel, Lieutenant Peretti de la Rocca. The work includes both illustrations and caricatures of life in the camp. 72 pages. 33cm x 35.5cm. .
