Publisher s pictorial cloth covered boards show some light bumping to rear edge, with a slight lean. A scattering of light foxing to endpapers. In very good condition. Encased in the very scarce double-sided colour-illustrated dust jacket, spine slightly sunned, with some chips and tears to upper and lower edges. Wrapper is unclipped and now in a protective Mylar sleeve (removable). In good, bright condition. The Old Man and the Sea was the last of Hemingway s full-length works to be published during his lifetime, and tells the tale of a young boy, an old man and a giant fish. The novel won Hemingway the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1953, and it was specifically mentioned when he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature the following year.
