First UK Edition. Publisher's pink and white boards with a blue spine with dark blue lettering to the spine. Slight dustiness to the page block otherwise a near fine (or better) copy with no fading whatsoever to the dark blue spine lettering. The D/W is priced 2s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for) and is a nice VG+ example its only minor faults being slightly browned to the spine and with shallow chipping at the head of the spine (not affecting any lettering) and with a short, closed tear with associated crease to the top edge of the back panel. Interestingly this copy has a pale yellow Faber & Faber 3s 6d net label over the original Nicholson & Watson price of 2/6. An interesting copy. Given the Faber later price label it might be argued that the D/W should be treated as a second state. Still an uncommon book especially in D/W. Photographs/scans available upon request.
