Rare first edition: the oration given at the church of N�tre-Dame de la Merci in Marseilles on 7 February 1766 following the death of Louis (1729 1765), the only surviving son of Louis XV (and the father of Louis XVI, Louis XVIII, and Charles X), from tuberculosis, seven weeks before. The preacher was chaplain to the fleet in Marseilles.
