Publisher's purple cloth with gilt titles to spine and upper. Top edge purple. With the illustrated dust-jacket priced at 42s. Lacking the loose card insert listing the main characters and family groups in the novel. Blue ink gift inscription to fly-leaf. All edges moderately toned.
