The Power of Non-violence is the most important and influential theory of principled or integral non-violence published in the twentieth century. Drawing on Gandhi’s ideas and practice, Gregg explains in detail how the organised power of non-violence exercised against violent opponents can bring about small and large transformative social change and provide an effective substitute for war. It had a huge influence on Martin Luther King, Jr., in the American civil rights movement and inspired many other activists. Gregg’s holistic vision of a peaceful and compassionate world combines non-violence, environmental sustainability, and simple living. Uncommon. Further photographs available upon request.…
