About this Item

A first edition, first printing published by Hamish Hamilton in 1990. A near fine book with some spotting within and to the page block - in a near fine unclipped wrapper - a touch rubbed to the corners. Both the 1991 television film Proved Innocent and the 1993 theatrical release In the Name of the Father depict a harrowing miscarriage of justice concerning the 1974 Guildford Pub Bombings. They tell the true story of Gerry Conlon, who was wrongly imprisoned alongside the "Guildford Four" for the IRA attacks. Both films expose how British police coerced confessions and fabricated evidence to secure convictions. They detail Conlon's decades-long fight to clear his name and expose institutional corruption.
