First Edition. Medium 8vo (225 mm); [xii], 376 pp. Twelve full-page plates, numerous in-text steel engravings, five maps, two of which are folding (one of which has a neat repair from the verso). Bound in later half calf, raised bands to spine with gilt lettering; new endpapers; scattered foxing (mainly titlepage and last dozen or so pages); clear paper repair to top inch of titlepage where presumably an inscription has been excised. A good, solid copy. Includes "Notes on the geography and meteorology of Mashonaland" and "List of stations in Mashonaland astronomically observed, with altitudes". Seller Inventory # 9237
