Both the narrative and the appendices are a goldmine for the genealogist and for the medal collector. an exemplary book and a pleasure to handle" (Perkins). Perkins, pp. 467-8. Octavo. With 19 maps (mostly folding, three in-text). Original dark grey cloth, gilt-lettered spine and front cover, gilt unit crest to front cover, Spine sunned, binding a little shaken and worn at extremities, front inner hinge cracked but firm, paper flaw at corner of pp. 171-2, some maps with repairs to closed tears, general signs of handling. A well-consulted copy, remaining good.
