VERY SCARCE!! This volume is exceptional in that it is an early (1925) and serious study of the transportation problems facing the burgeoning city of Los Angeles and the county of Los Angeles in the first couple of decades of the 20th century. In addition to analyzing traffic flows in L. A., recommendations are made to alleviate foreseeable problems in moving large numbers of people from one place to another in the sprawling Los Angeles basin. The report includes studies of other American metropolitan areas such as New York, Philadelphia and Chicago. It further discusses existing transit lines and projected financial solutions for proposed projects. The book is a large quarto volume in green cloth binding. It contains 202 pages of text with diagrams, B&W photos, maps and charts. The second half of the book contains 24 fold-out plates of maps and diagrams, many in color. Condition: upper corners of binding bumped; lower corners lightly bumped. Slight shelf-wear to binding. The original folding plate number seven has been removed and a color photocopy has been loosely inserted in its place. This is otherwise, a very good+ copy.
