Previous owner inscriptions in blue ink to the flyleaves of vols II and III, vol II has spotting to edges of textblock. Rolling to spine extremities, wearing to edges of jackets. Very good. 'Ring of Bright Water' was the first book published in this series in which Maxwell writes about his life at Camusfearna (his cottage) with his pet otters. The two books that follow also chart his remote life in the West Highland's of Scotland. The black and white photographs that accompany Maxwell's writing are particularly charming; they show the happy otters in rather unusual situations juggling spoons and lying in front of fires. All copies are first editions.
