[History] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.[8]; 255; folding map attached to rear leaf. Publisher's green cloth lettered in red to spine. Minor toning to endpapers and edges of textblock, pencil annotation to p.230 and some others throughout, wearing to cloth, sunning to spine, one tear to map neatly repaired with archival tape. Very good. Bodley was an English civil servant and known for his writings on France.
