First edition. Quarto. 40 pages. Colour pictorial wrappers. Eight colour plates by Kate Greenaway, Walter Crane, Randolph Caldecott, L. Hopkins, C. Delort, Adrien Marie, E. Niczky, and Gustave Dore, these being printed by Edmund Evans. The plate by Greenaway shows a young girl holding a fan and has the title ''Little Fanny''. Stories by Mrs F. Locker, Louisa May Alcott, et al. A few woodcuts in the text. Tipped in at the front are two specimens of the coloured illustrations to be found in Every Girl's Magazine and Every Boy's Magazine.Kate Greenaway's copy: on the front cover is a presentation inscription to her from one of the contributors, ''For, Miss Greenaway from H. Jane Locker 1881''. The latter was married to the poet Frederick Locker and wrote under the name Mrs F. Locker (see above).Some foxing here and there. Spine splitting. A couple of pages coming loose.
