Half-title, chromolithographed frontispiece (A Bride Cake) and 7 plates, 5 wood-engraved plates, full-page bills of fare within text. xxiii, 422 pages + 18 pages of illustrated advertisements at the rear of the book. Publisher's original brown cloth with gilt vignette of an elaborate dessert to the middle of the front board. Topics: Ice cream, Ices, etc, Confectionery, Desserts. Front and rear end-papers appear to have been recently replaced. Heavy foxing to the early pages of the book and to several pages inside the book (noteworthy to pages 264-266). . Tissue guard to the frontispiece missing. Wear and splitting to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine and to the corners. Spine tips particularly soft. Overall a good copy.
