First edition, first printing. Limited edition. Publisher's original patterned paper covered boards over blue cloth spine, with titles in red on a paper label to the spine. Illustrated throughout in black and white with 31 wood block engravings by Eric Ravilious. Original tipped in wood engraving made by Eric Ravilious for the title page of the 'Travel' category for the Dent Everyman Library. Set in Perpetua which was designed by Eric Gill c1925 and was used by Dent to accompany Ravilious's 'Everyman' Designs from 1935 - 1953. Printed by Michael Mitchell at the Libanus Press on Zerkall mould-made paper and bound by Smith Settle. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Issued in a edition of 425 copies of which this is number 325. There was also an edition of 87 copies, numbered in Roman numerals, which accompanied a portfolio of twenty original wood engravings by Eric Ravilious. Published to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Eric Ravilious's death in September 1942. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
