Half bound in recent black calf over matching cloth-covered boards, spine gilt-lettered in six compartments with raised bands, top edge red, original spine bound in at rear. Contents clean, no inscriptions, some gentle toning, exterior as new. A near fine copy in an attractive recent leather binding. A most superior copy of the combined edition, with a new preface by the author. Consisting of a series of letters written by Screwtape, an experienced Devil. Over the course of the book, Screwtape guides his young apprentice, Wormwood, on how to assure his assigned human continues on a steady path towards damnation.
