First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author; 8vo; internally fine; publisher's green cloth, titles to spine silver and upper cover in blind, orange topstain bright, green endpapers, with the unclipped pictorial dustjacket, slight creasing to extremities, a couple of score marks to rear panel, else very good. Inscribed by the author to his lover Peter Gillis in purple ink on the title page: 'James Merrill / with love to Peter - James'.
