Shore Poems and other Verse

1957. First edition. 47pp. Robert Rendall (1898–1967) was a Scottish poet, and amateur naturalist who spent most of his life in Kirkwall, Orkney. Shore Poems is his second collection of poems, and is divided into the following sections: Shore Poems, People and Places, and Other Shores. The poems record feelings evoked by the sights and sounds of an Orkney shore, to which are added occasional poems on people and places, and a few pieces of religious verse. The book is bound in the original grey cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some tape staining near the top of the spine and top edge of up to about 2" of the boards (this has been taken from tape holding an old protective cover for the dustwrapper). The contents are tight and clean with a name on the top edge of the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with some light soiling and the spine is slightly sunned.
