First US edition with Robinson's illustrations, trade issue, in a luxurious contemporary binding. First published in London, this handsome work was specifically produced for the the Christmas illustrated book market. This publication collects the titular poem alongside "The Coastwise Lights", "The Song of the Dead", "The Deep-sea Cables", and "The Song of the Sons". Quarto (280 x 215 mm). Illustrations throughout by Heath Robinson, plates 5 and 23 bound as doublures. Finely bound in green morocco, spine lettered and decorated in compartments in gilt, boards elaborately ruled and decorated in gilt, gilt doublures with an illustration mounted to board verso, cream moire silk endpapers. Spine slightly darkened, a little professional colour to extremities, silk lifting, light foxing to contents: a fresh copy in a handsome binding, very good.
