First Photoplay edition, second printing, in the striking jacket. First published in 1927 to take advantage of the release of the successful movie by the same name starring James Pierce, this edition features a new colourful jacket and plates reproducing scenes from the movie. Several reprints of this edition are known, each with variations in the publisher's advertising section at the end. The present one, not mentioned by Zeuschner, can be dated to 1928 as it lists The Outlaw of Torn at head of the titles by Edgar Rice Burroughs; this book was reprinted by Grosset & Dunlap in 1928. This reprint not in Zeuschner (between 585 & 586) Octavo. Halftone frontispiece and 3 plates illustrating scenes from the photoplay. Original orange cloth, spine and front cover lettered in black Cloth bright, minor rubbing to spine ends and corners, edges sharp, faint damp stain to edges and a few initial leaves, otherwise clean; a very good copy indeed, in slightly rubbed and toned jacket, a few nicks, light damp stain at head of spine panel, else very good.
