The first edition of a work on the Temple Church by Charles Greenstreet Addison (1812-1866), barrister and historical writer. Addison had previously written a History of the Knights Templar, the first two editions of which appeared in 1842 and a third in 1852. From the recently dispersed library of Eric Gerald Stanley (1923-2018), scholar of Old English literature, Rawlinson and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon at the University of Oxford. Size: 8vo.
