46 x 46cm. Boxed publication. Limited edition - one of 500 copies. Published in September 1969 by The Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture in cooperation with The Architectural League of New York and The Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. This publication constitutes a full documentation of Hejduk's exploration of the Diamond Thesis (the colophon states "this facet of [Hejduk's] work was first shown publicly in the gallery of The Architectural League in November of 1967 along with paintings on the same theme by Robert Slutzky"). A fragile hard polystyrene box containing loose leaf material: one single-sidled title-page incorporating a colophon, a 4pp bi-fold sheet of introductory text, followed by three sections in folders titled Project A, B, and C, containing loose-leaf plans: 24 sheets in total (two in colour). The Diamond Thesis was inspired by Piet Mondrian's sixteen Diamond Compositions. The use of a diamond-shaped working-space was advocated by Hejduk as a means of transforming the compositional dynamic in architectural design. The lower tray of the box has split at the edges, and there is denting and minor splitting to the edges of the titled lid. Internally excellent condition. Rare. Seller Inventory # 29528
