[Children's Illustrated] FIRST EDITION. Small octavo (18 x 12cm), pp.[2] 245 [9]. With a chromolithographic frontispiece and decorated title page, as well as four further illustrated plates by Greenaway. Publisher's green cloth with gilt and black decoration to spine and upper. New rear endpaper. A black ink ownership and bookseller's label to front pastedown. Upper hinge starting and quite tender. Large losses to pp.21-26, including significant loss to text. Light even spotting throughout, with some general wear and thumbing to edges. Cloth quite heavily rubbed, with some bowing to upper. Fair.
