Externally, generally smart. Previous owner's contemporary ink inscription to front free endpaper. Annotation label to front board. Joints slightly cracked, but generally firm, rear board slightly loosened but holding. Closed tear to spine with slight loss, more so to head and tail. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss and the odd small closed tear to cloth. Slight discolouration to spine and extremities. Rubbing to spine label. Slight rubbing to boards with one or two minor handling marks. Hinges cracked, but holding. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean if characteristically age toned with the odd spot. Slight cockling to pages. Good.
