Reprint (we believe that the first edition was in 1868). viii, 136pp. Edward Bouverie Pusey (1800-1882) was an English Anglican cleric and one of the leading figures in the Oxford Movement, with interest in sacramental theology and theological typology. He published several original works as well as translations. The present book consists of eleven Addresses delivered to Companions of the Love of Jesus. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling to the boards and bumping to the top corners. The spine ends are bumped with some damage and a little loss to the cloth. The contents are tight and clean with several pages having neatly written notes on the fore margin. The free endpapers are browned with a name and date (1893) written on the front free endpaper and there is a small name label with a handwritten date (1935) on the front fixed endpaper. …
