Cracking to front hinge, fading and markings to spine and boards. Title written in ink on spine 'Vince's Trigonometry' and a small in name on front pastedown 'Meyricke. An additional errata slip included p.180. 'Adapted to the Use of Students in Philosophy'. Samuel Vince was a Professor of Astronomy and Experimental Philosophy at Cambridge until his death in 1821. He wrote on many aspects of his expertise, including logarithms and imaginary numbers and, like Charles Babbage, sought to use rational arguments in favour of the belief in religious miracles. This book was possbily a continuation of a 1795-99 digest of university lectures written by Vince and James Wood. Scarce. 8vo. Seller Inventory # 65098
