First edition. Laid-in is a page (numbered 238 and corresponding to pp.281-2 in the published text) of a corrected typescript draft of the book. The changes comprise approximately 25 additional words and a similar number of excisions and are all incorporated into the final text although there are some further differences, suggesting that the page is not from the final draft of the book. An excellent copy of her first novel, lacking the dustwrapper.
